32 scale question

Sign in to disble this ad
I am working on a 32 scale and was wondering if regular DR High beams will work OK on it? DR shows regular strings and short scale strings I am guessing that by short scale they mean 30" Anybody know? Thanks ..Tom

I've used regular length strings on my Gibson EB-3 which is 32.5" scale without a problem - you just have more to cut off the end to keep from having to many winds around the tuning post.

The only thing you might want to do is up the gauge of the strings as well.

I fixed up a 32" scale some month ago, and shorts where too short, but regular where just fine in this case though of course more cut as mentioned already here.
