Looks nice, but.. That B string wrap is killing me.. <_< How do you like the EMG selects? I have a set of their P pickups in a parts bass of mine. Really bright and punchy.

I like the body shape a lot (although I'd be worried about balance) but would not have gone with this specific head.

Yeah i hear you about the b string.
Emgs are great, ive had a set of seymour duncans on another bass and the tone and range of selects is way better. You can actually make a huge difference with the tone only, even if just soloing a pickup.
So i like them a lot.. Lows are really nice.

It's funny, the B string wrapped the other way around did not bug me that much (I figured it was because of how small the headstock is), but what really caught my eye in the picture is a big bass pet peeve of mine: winding strings like a guitar, without the end going down into the hole in the tuning peg, haha. XP

Also, the description says this bass has a bubinga top and back and neck. I'm wondering if perhaps you meant to say padauk, unless that is some seriously straight grained bubinga!

It is bubinga or thats what I bought it as.. The blank was not that wide or thick so in that sense its no wonder I got strait grain... also the dealer usually sells wood to everyone BUT someone who builds instruments.

I would have liked something with a bit more curves in it but this was the only thing available at the time..

I was thinking it looks more like padauk, too.

If a rag turns bright orange when you wipe the wood with acetone, it's padauk.

Well, whatever the wood is, your work looks very good for only a second build!
