35" to 34" conversion question

If I wanted to switch my KSD proto j 705 from a 35" scale to a 34" scale, do I just need a new neck? Is it really that simple?

No. Bridge would also have to be re-aligned. More trouble than it's worth. Better off getting a Fender Jazz.

No, unless you have one custom fit to the body to adapt it for the 1" scale change. The modshop way to do this is to re-rout the body for the new neck to adapt the scale, but there are many ways to achieve it, none of which are cheap and easy

Do you think that the expense is worth it to save ~2.9% distance differential? Stretching will save you a LOT of money.

Moving the bottom strap pin off the centerline towards the bass side (or adding a second pin there) should both shift the bass a bit to your right, and angle the neck up a bit. Both may help if you're having reach problems.
