the factories usually do the same body for wider necks, me: I don't

I keep my wings the same so a wider neck means a wider overall width.

Yes. It would be easier to use a larger neck pocket, but you could also tenon the neck.

Wouldn't it look weird with a wide neck on 4 string body?
