Hello! Not posted anything here for months... but now I wanted to show off this build. The owner wanted a warm but focused sounding fretless, lined and not too heavy.
The specs were decided were:
34" scale
21 lines
Padouk neck
Wengé fingerboard with Maple lines
Okoumé body with a slightly modified "SWAN" shape
2 AlNiCo5 humbuckers
front routing for controls with Padouk cover
Chrome hardware.
This is the fingerboard (raw and slotted). |

Wenge's a pretty odd choice for a fretless board, that'll be unfinished, right?

It's not an odd choice, I'm not the only builder who uses it a lot. I made lots of fretless fingerboard with Wengé, Bubinga, Padouk, Cocobolo... more than Ebony. |

Follow the thread and you'll see how the fingerboard looked finished. |

BTW, it's nice to see you post again. |

You can judge yourself how the Wengé fingerboard turned out. The guy who ordered it was extremely happy and so was I. |

Here you can see the fingerboard a bit better. |
