4 way rotary

so my friend is trying to wire up a Kent Armstrong Motherbucker, and he wants a 4 wat rotary so he can select 1 coil, 2 coils, 3 coils, and then all 4. Is there such thing, how would it be wired, and where can I find this?

Thanks!

Switches like this can be bought from electrical parts supply stores such as Farnell, Radiospares (Oz and UK) and I presume from Mouser or Newark amongst others in the US in a variety of configurations.
I have no way of drawing it up to post, and it'd be a word salad if I tried to write it out. I'd also prefer to do it once I know which actual switch you're going to use.

Before doing this, I'd suggest experimenting with a few different coil configs via screw terminals external to the instrument to work out what might actually be of use, then get a switch that'll allow you to select the appropriate coil combinations. A MB wired all in series is 27k and I have a feeling it will sound like mud.

I dodn't know about a 4 way rotary, but some prs guitars are equipped with a 5 way rotary switch, check the prs website for diagrams and i think you can even buy it from their website

4 coils - 4 ways? That would be a 4t8p switch...

I suggest you make up the schematics for what you want. Then you can see how many poles you'll need - i did and found that a 4t3p did the job with 2 coils...

Then you know what to search for - and hence, you can dod the search right!
