I hereby propose a 30-day extension to the 5-string build off competition. The competition should end April 30th. |

I got what I wanted out of it, and that was to have some really cool builds and varying techniques brought to the fore in this forum, something that has been lacking greatly for years, while builders would use this fourm as an advertisement then disappear once they get enough attention.
This has been a group venture from the get go, so whatever the group decides, and I agree 30 days would help a few guys get completely done. |

I would not mind another week of curing time before I rub out my finish and the opportunity to get sound samples/video. I think it should also matter what Drake and Grantbass think since they both finished well in advance.

LOL |

You may not think much of it, but thank you for all your hard work and expression of your creativity! Good luck to all who entered and I will definitely have a tough time deciding my personal winner( I don't know who votes). Thanks again and I am glad there is a proposed extension!

I think it is more about the quality and craftsmanship of the work rather than the speed in which it was completed, so I vote YES for the extension, if I have any say in the matter. |

I feel like I'm rushing too much near then end here and don't want to ruin the many pleasureable hours of work I've put into this with a lousy finish!

| | | well; ive already been blown out of the water, so i'll take it as a personal victory finishing on time
and take it as an oppritunity to get some HQ pics and possibly some sound or video sample;
and aside from the present (concensual) setback, i would consider the experiment a total sucsess, and i was not ready at all for the level of talent that was interested in participating, so i hope we do it again, 90% of these builds were the best looking/original ideas ive ever seen documented; no foolin.
so no reservations here, and hope to see you all involved in another round soon, so put the thinking caps on and inspire some more folks that were on the side lines for this one wishing they would have joined in

I thoroughly impressed by the high level of craftsmanship, creative woodworking solutions and creative designs here. Fender would do well to fire it's entire R&D staff and just sub this thread - and pay you guys. Not kidding! A Fender "Habanero" or "Mad Scientist" would more likely send me shopping at GC than the billionth rendition of a J or P bass with this week's teeny bopper band bass genius’s signature on it.
Excellent work!
I am doing a restoration of a former school dumpster upright bass now but may join you in a future build. Inspiring. I’m all for an extension. Would hate to see it end.
