5 String Neck: Scale?

Sign in to disble this ad
I put a bid on a neck in Ebay. Without paying attention to the details Anyway...it is a 5 string:

Maple and has a Ebony Fingerboard, 9.5" raduis on fingerboard.. Further more it has a Double acting truss rod Fretless, the tuner holes are for two step bass tuners The nut width is 1-3/4" Heel width is 2-3/8". The neck has a C shaped back that measures 0.900" at the first fret.

It is fretless and without dots, from the nut to the bottom of the fingerboard it meassures 20-3/8"

My question is what kind of scale bass could I make? Is it useful for a project down the road or should I just let it go?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

since it's fretless, you have many options....

OK thanks.

Could I bolt it to a body that had a 28" neck or would further mods be in order? The neck pocket doesn't seem to be an issue.

I'm so wayyy out of school with this one

Should be able to. 28" scale gives you about 22 frets worth of neck.
