7 String Bass woods?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm building a 7 string bass, and the body is going to be made of walnut. the trouble is, I cannot find a suitable dealer in the dimensions I require.

Any suggestions?
The dimensions are approximately 27 X 8 X 4
Its a matchbook body.

16/4 Walnut will be expensive and risky. Thicker cuts of Walnut have a higher chance of honeycombing than 4/4 or 6/4.

I might be able to help you out. There are a half dozen or so 16/4 billets in my stash.... each about 6 feet long and 8 or so in wide. How quickly would you need the walnut? I'd have to dig it out...... I've been saving this stiff for bass bodies that I never seem to be able to find the time to build.
