Abalam pliability?

I want to do an Abalam purfling along with a simple b/w/b binding around the body and headstock of a build I'm working on but have never used Abalam before. Can it be bent at all to round the forearm countour?

I would look to the curved purfling abalam, it is very thin and breaks quite easilly. It has some pliability, but not much.
