ABMs Trussrods

I was checking ABM homepage and went into the accesories section. I found out that they sell trussrod for guitar and basses. Didnt know that. They sell different trussrod sizes for different guitar/bass scales. Does anybody used these ones before?

They also have a fretsaw jig for guitars and 34" basses and mention that other sizes are also available on request.

Ledbelli uses them. I'm sure there's many others.

I'm still using "HotRods", which come in 12 1/4", 14 1/4", 18" and 24" (not all styles come in these lengths, 1/8" allen nut rod only. Spoke rod comes in 18" and 24".)

Well yes but from all those sizes there are only one for basses which is 24" and from time to time shows up somebody building a double-bass size electric bass and asks for trussrods longer than stew macs. This would be an option for them. A not good point to use these trussrods would be the shipping time though. Heard a few times around here the ridiculously long shipping time for bridges.

Hope Ledbelly joins the thread to say something about these trussrods.

I went on to the ABM rods because I broke a Hotrod under circumstances well within what I would expect a trussrod to work in. The ABM rods that I used were dual action required a 9 mm deep cavity at the nut end. This deepened to 12 mm as you got to the adjuster. The adjuster was 10 mm wide and 13 mm deep. They had a 5 mm allen key for adjusting them which I modified to a spoke wheel. They were rough finish wise and seemed to be braised rather than welded I got my friend to weld them. I have had no issues with them. These rods were the ones produced by ABM before they changed hands I have not used any made buy the new owners so can't comment on them. I know get my own rods made for me by a local engineer company.
