The Abomination Bass Is Back For Part II!

Alright, so my bass is back for even more 'reconstruction'. So heres the low down ehehehe, the norstrand pickup was not placed in the so called 'sweet spot' like the Stingray so it didnt sound right. I mean it didnt sound bad but it was too close to the bridge so it was cutting off bass and had a much more mid-range type cut. Some people might like that but imo it didnt sound as good as it could be. So I measured up a Stingray copied the pickup placement. In doing so I had to ditch my EMG so now I am a little confused, should I just have one pickup or put in a different pickup along with the Nordstrand, I don't want to use EMGs because it didnt match very well with a passive pickup so anyone have any ideas to throw at me lol.

Now:

BTW, I did not fill the WHOLE thing with bondo lol, I used fiberglass and I forgot to take a picture of that. What you see is the bondo to even out the fiberglass and any holes and dings that were there.
Also, I am not going to be using a pickguard this time, idk I want to have a super sleek all black bass now, and i mean ALL black, strings, pickup, pickup pole pieces, hardware, fretboard, everything lol.

Hmm. I thought it was pretty cool before. So, the Abomination Bass is now going to be all black, with just a mm pickup?

Well I'm not totally sure. I do like the contrast of the white fretboard and I would like to have two pickups but the musicman is almost directly in the middle, therefore making the placement of any additional pickup a little awkward

I like the sound of a single mm just fine. I don't think it needs to be p/mm or anything crazy. But yeah, I do like the white fretboard; I can't say I've seen any like that before. Maybe you could keep the white pickguard, and make some sort of crazy abominable snowman on it. Well, you'd have to make a new pickguard, but I think that would be totally sweet.

Like the one from Star Wars

Here's a bit of an update. I sanded the bass down so now i need to decide where to put the pots and rewire my preamp because its a disaster right now lol. I did get to hear what it sounds like though, and pickup placement really affects the sound greatly. Now it sounds like a stingray but not as harsh, i like it alot.

Wow, other than the purple looking bondo part, it actually looks pretty cool like that.

But yeah: abominable snowman on the pickguard; keep the white FB, and all that.
