Just about to start this Reurve.
The spec.
Black Limba body with a burl Redwood top black accent veneer.
Neck Wenge/Limba 5 piece with an Acrylic Impregnated Quilted Maple fingerboard form Larry at Gallery.
Redwood headplate wenge backplate and heel.
Green LEDs on the side of the neck.
Hardware in Black
ACG FB pickups.
ACG pre-amp.
Hipshot Type A.
Hipshot Ultralites

It is just a pencil line marking out the section the fingerboard will come from.

New redwood Recurve in its formative stages.

That's mine, that is!!!

I cant wait to see it finished. I am really holding back on the urge to order one of Alan's jazz basses now, as if I did, I wouldnt have the next wait to look forward to (if you see what I mean!)

Yup, pretty nice piece of redwood. Alan, are you doing anything to harden the redwood or just letting the finish take care of that? And what finish are you using?

That top is going to work out pretty well when finished.
SOM
I will pore fill with west systems epoxy which will harden the redwood then finish with acid catalysed lacquer although I am thinking of moving to polyurethane if I can get the safety gear sorted out.

I have now got the neck fitted and carved and the pickup routes done. The neck needs to be finish sanded and the fret work done then it is off to get the LED's fitted.

the redwood top was very nice...and the black limba back is awesome...

now that you have some finish on the top...whoa, nelly, she's a true beauty, Alan.
