In order to provide any kind of advice on your designs, you
really, really, really, really, need to draw your sketches to scale. While your rough sketches give a general impression of an idea, they fall far short of being able to convey any kind of realistic semblence of what the constructed bass will really look like upon completion. This makes it impossible for us to provide solid, meaningful, constructive comments on your designs.
Things I'd like to comment on about your sketch, but can't due to the scaling issue includes:
* bridge location, and how the body curves flow with it
* neck pocket usability
* control and jack locations - if you have a round over body edge, they simply can't be that close to the edge of the body
* pickup placement
* pickguard flow and location
* overall body balance (visually and physically) with the neck
* ergonomic and playability issues
* etc, etc, etc ...
Congratulations on making this the home for your new designs. I look forward to seeing new additions drawn to scale and offering you constructive input
all the best,
R
