Anyone in Central IL that can help me?

I'm looking for someone in Central IL, that can add a zero fret to my bass. So if anyone on here is from this area, or knows of someone in this area, please let me know.

Is this even possible? Or rather is it practical? Or does a bass need to be built "around" a zero fret? Will it mess with the scale length? I just know I like the sound from zero frets, don't really know much else haha.

Install a brass nut.

I'm from IL myself. Grew up near St Louis, but I've lived in Springfield and Champaign.
