Hi all, I was hoping someone would know about the wood enough know if I can use it for neck lams, or body blanks.
I recently recieved a bunch of it and am eager to start my first project. I tried to look for a janka hardness rating for apple but couldn't find one anywhere it seemed. Any help woud be appreciated and thanks for your time

If you find some with enough figure, it could also make an interesting bookmatched top and/or back
all the best,

Pretty enough for body tops, but rather heavy for solid bodies.

one question for you: this apple wood is properly dried, right? you're not planning on using fresh cut wood are you?

It went from his storage, to my friend's truck, to my house. while it still has only been sawn to 2" and still has bark around the edges. it hasn't yet been planed. I would be looking at a couple of 2 piece bodies, and about 2-3 3 piece bodies.
