Well in previous thread I mentioned getting the wood, well here it is;

Click Here

All that is going to (hopefully) turn into a 6 string bass with the following spec's;

-Set Neck
-34" scale
-Single truss rod with two carbon fibre supports
-2 home made soapbar pups (43 gauge wire, still researching into aspects of this to see whats most likely to suit me best)
-Winters Custom 5 band EQ
-ETS Black Mark III Angular 2 peice bridge; adjustable string width but normal of 16.5mm
-Wooden nut (not sure which of the woods I'm going to use but I have some options, also if this fails I have a bone nut to install)
-Gotoh Tuners
-Quilted top (as you can see in the pictures)
-Bulgarian Walnut back (as you can also see on the pictures)

Hmm what else can be said ....

Well unfortunately I need some help from my dad to start this project so I have to wait a few days before I can get started but I am still waiting for the bridge to be delivered so I haven't got a finalised plan drawn up because of that either. Depending on the final measurements of the neck laminates I should be able to get two necks out of it for if one goes wrong or for a second bass (would like a fretless twin of the one I'm about to make but thats a bit ambitious for now)

Also, fretboard options, wenge,b.e.maple,wenge or b.e.maple,wenge,b.e.maple? There is a crapy paint examples attached.

Great wood! I'm using wenge for my fretboard- not that it helps you with your decision. As far as the pickups, 43 sounds good- should put you at around 9KOhms, depending on how you wind it- good for bass! Nice to see your thread up in here!

Thanks Teh Fleaz0rz and Bassic

Doing some thinking I have decided thats is going to be birds eye maple centre wood for the fretboard and wenge for the outer, that should (in terms of wood tone) give well defined highs and lows (not give but is morelikely to increase these properties if you believe wood makes a tonal difference).

Still unfortunately I haven't got any progress done on it yet, darn time ... anyway I wont leave ti too long (I dont think I can stand leaving it too long before I get started)
