Bass from the Dead

So i bought a used (heavily used) Memphis J-bass clone for 50 bucks, lucky for me it already had the frets ripped out. So after trashing the ancient and destroyed pickup rig, pickguard, and all of the hardware (it was even missing the G machine head) i sanded down the body and neck because the natural gloss finish was all pitted and scratched.

So now i have a decent fretless neck and a decent j-bass type body, but i dont know what to do with it...

This is where you guys come in, give me your thoughts and opinions as to what mods (mild to wild) you think i should throw into this frankenstein.

I've always wondered about Rick 4001 toaster/horseshoe pickups on a J bass body...

Oh yeah - and paint it whatever colour you want!
