Question bass neck does not attach back on to body?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,
I have a MTD Kingston one P/U 5 string bass. The neck has been off for about a week and now it's too tight to reattach. I'm afraid if I force it on, I will break the thin edge of the body cavity. Some paint has been chipped by trying to fit the neck back on. What can I do?

I hope you are trying to install the neck into the cavity from the top, and not from the end. Remember most necks have a slight taper and have to be installed directly from the top of the cavity.

P.S.
How about paint chip repair. What's the secret on that? A small piece came off about 1/10 the size of a dime.

You might be able to super glue it back in.
