Beardley 8 String Guitar (or shortscale bass.....)

i am currently building my first guitar (yes, guitar.... it's a portfolio item, yeah... thats it.....)

now on to the good stuff... this project will be a 30" scale length 8 string with a poplar body and a set 5 piece (maple, red oak, curly maple) neck. purpleheart fretboard with 24 stainless steel frets.

all black hardware. hipshot bridge, sperzel tuners, single dimarzio d-activator humbucker.

i feel that this guitar build will be a success. because of that, i have started on my next bass build that will be the twin to this guitar. i should have a new thread up for the new bass project very soon.

I dig it. Too bad you aren't closer to me. Playing that might help with my hankerin' to try to get my hands on an Ibanez SR7VII or whatever their 30" 7 string bass/guitar hybrid is called.
