How close does bloodwood come to the color of Q-Tuner pickups, for anyone that has had hands on time with both?

Thanks for your time

Doesn't the colour of bloodwood vary from piece to piece? Some can be a reddish brown and some really vibrant?

The color can vary A LOT. Padouk may be another good choice if youre trying to match the red.

Just my opinion trying to match colors will normally end up with "close" and sometimes close just plain looks off. Good luck though if you chose to go for it. Try Redwood too...t

tj, you've said exactly what's been on my mind the whole time. It may just be better to go for wenge for a neck.

...and you need to consider that some woods will darken with exposure.

Doesn't bloodwood stay the same color? I've read that it doesn't fade like purpleheart.

mm...I'm not sure it does. But I don't think it fades either. As far as I know Bloodwood ages to a darker brown. Lacquer should slow down the aging process. Padauk and Purpleheart seem to follow a similar pattern. I wish they didn't

anyway, my note was less about Bloodwood specifically than it was about the success - over time - of matching two colors when one of the material is 'predictable' (plastic) and the other one less so.
