Blue 2 way truss rods on ebay

Does anyone have experience with the blue two way truss rods that are always available on ebay. They look decent and they are much cheaper than stewmac.

They are probably the Grizzly tr's that I've seen pop-up on eBay. H6032 Truss Rod-2 Way For Bass
I use them, as they are a bit shallower than the hot rods sold on stewmac.

I would be interested to know which ones are heavier.

TBer Martin Keith also sells truss rods with blue wrapping, for very good price, and they are a little heavier than the Grizzly rod, and come out of the same factory. I would ask Martin about some rods, he's on here frequently and is a good person to deal with. Search Martin Keith, and you'll find him, shoot him an e-mail through TB. You will have no problems with his tr's.

This is the one I am looking at. Seems like a good price but maybe too good to be true although a truss rod is not exactly rocket science.
Thanks

I know the seller, as I have bought shadow bridges from him, and is a good seller, I don't know that particular rod, so I cannot comment as to the quality, looks decent though.only drawback I see is the single spot weld, most rods have longer welds, but that doesn't mean a whole lot if the weld is solid.

The only measurement given is the length. I wonder how deep/wide the channel needs to be. I have been using the LMI ones with no problems. Tom

Looking at that truss rod I wouldn't be so sure that it's a 2 way , it looks like a one way double rod to me.

I bought the same one, from this guy. Construction seems solid, I was going to use it for a Mockingbird rebuild, but I will end up using it for my first scratch build at lutherie school. Should be ok, but keep us posted! Good luck!

I can't say whether those are good or bad, just that they are not the ones Martin Keith sells. Martin's have the flat rod flattened for reduced depth at the nut end, and a full weld at the nut end, no brass, and an internal hex inside a non-moving, cylindrical plated barrel. They are double-acting, while this one does not appear to be, and makes no claim to be so. These appear to need a hex socket wrench rather than a hex key, and so would require a comparatively large excavation of the wood in that area.
