Boiled Wood

Sign in to disble this ad
Well I think that some of you should have a face like this right now . I had one myself when I read this:

http://www.exoticwoodworld.com/index...&species_id=24

This guy recommends to boil some of the woods he sell (all of them from Amazonas Jungle).

He also mention some other guy from US to recommends this too. I tried to look read something about this over internet. The best link I found was http://www.woodturners.org/tech_tips...es/boiling.pdf but I wanted to know if some of you have tried this before.

Surely you then need a proper curing kiln to get the moisture content back down to 6-8%?

then its alot like madrone.
the heat and H2O stabilize the wood.

in the states we use a pressure cooker type chamber to stabilize madrone
in water vapor (steam)
