Bolt neck to set neck / throught neck

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi I want to build a Rickenbacker 4000 bass for my self .
As I cant make a neck for the life of me, but able to build body ok. I was wondering if I get a paddle type neck of Warmonth etc. You know the standard type neck but head stock not cut out.
Is it possible to make this neck set or throught , type by A gluing the neck when set up right to the body with say epoxy with a good tight fit.
Or B some how make the neck a through neck. If so how?
Yes I know Ricks arnt 34" scale but its not far out & I can make the body a bit longer to equall this scale.
Or does it really matter if its bolt on neck
The pickup is a SD RB-1 bridge is a All Parts Rick type bridge.
Thanks

I am thinking of building my own 5 string Rickenbacker. I know a couple of guys who can make a Ric body that will accept a bolt on neck. And the paddle headstock is a good option. I will probably make the bass more like the 4004.
