Here's my shot at making a "production" model (if you want to call it that ), that i'll be offering up as a model....Sorta like a jazz, sorta like a ray.........
***Warning: This page may load slow, lots of pics***, now that you've been warned........
So, i'll put down some random pics of this (ad)venture. Since it's a prototype I decided to do wooden pickup covers too (an option).
Specs:
5 string.
3 piece Swamp ash body.
5 piece curly maple/wenge with a tru-oil finish, swamp ash heastock veneer.Threaded inserts and machine bolts. (control cavity too), with graphite rods.
Madagascar ebony fretboard with red oak dots (3/8")
2 Nordstrand NJ5FS jazz pickups
Nordstrand 2 band electronics....active/passive w/passive tone control.
Hipshot type A bridge.
Gotoh tuners.
Black hardware.
Brass nut.

so did you go with the 3-piece SA body for cost purposes or ???
all the best,

What are your plans for the knob layout? |

What are your plans for the knob layout? | I'm debating an "inline" and "diamond" setup.....I need to figure that part out.... |
