Sign in to disble this ad
HI I Just had a few questions about installing a bridge cover on a squier pbass

So Number one if i just get a fender pbass bridge cover will it fit?

Number two how do i drill holes in the body ( yeah i know i'm a total noob at this)

number three what screws do i need to get because most of the bridge covers dont come with screws so just wondering which screws i would need

Thanks!

I did the same thing as you.

Your gonna need:
A power drill
#8 screws, 3/4 inch in length
Possible rubber spacers

The bridge will fit just fine, so don't worry about that. You're gonna need to set the cover over the bridge and try to make sure its straight just by looking. With enough care, you should get it pretty close. Take the drill and find a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the screws, and drill through the holes on the cover. I would recomend screws with a hex head. You'll have to take the cover off every time you change strings or adjust your action, and a phillips head or flat heads screw will strip to easily. Screw it in and there you have it! Good luck, and be very careful with it. If you mess up, buy a 1/4 inch wood dowel, drill a quarter inch hole to repair the other hole and use wood glue to hold it in place and then sand it down.

I mentioned the rubber bumbers, but that is only if you use really action. Occasionally, strings may rattle against the cover, but it won't affect you sound when played through an amp anyway.
