bridge too big

Sign in to disble this ad
hi everybody,

i recently got a hipshot a style bridge (6 string) for a project and it appears that i've miscalculated on the string spacing and it is too big for my neck (outer strings end up outside the fretboard at the 20-24th frets).

does anybody know of any way, other than getting a smaller bridge, of making this work? and if not, can someone recomend a bridge that may work?

thanks,
Mollin Man

I don't believe there is a way to fix the problem, apart from making a new neck or buying a diff. bridge.

I'd make sure to draw it all up to scale on a piece of paper. Get your current neck dimensions down and figure out what kind of string spacing you'll need for a new bridge, then go hunting for it.
There's always the single-string bridges that I believe Hipshot and ABM sell, that way you can customize the spacing (more)to your liking.

I was thinking that the Hipshots had customizable string spacing. Do they not?

Just give it to my wife to wash it and it will be perfect size in not too long!
