Bridge & Tuners update

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys, it's me again

I was wondering about changing bridge and tuners to my Yamaha TRB 5 II . . . I like golden ones. . but i wanna put black beauties on it and would like to put black hardware too.
The bridge i'm thinking of its a Hipshot 5 strings black and gotoh compact tuners:

I guess tuners wont be a problem , but the bridge will ... the original bridge has 4 holes at the base of the bridge and i dont see any hole in the hipshot one. .. do i have to make the holes both the bridge and bass??? will this affect the bass in anyway?? greethings.

Can you take a picture of the holes on your bass bridge?

If you are referring to the screw holes for mounting the bridge, you can do one of two things: either locate a bridge with the same mounting hole configuration, or drill new holes for the new bridge, which should cover up the holes from the old bridge.

You're completely right i was looking for them at the bottom and cornes of the bridge, didn't notice them... but i still think if it is worth to drill the bass for a new good looking amd maybe better sustain bridge.

Interesting. . . You noticed 3 holes in the bridge and i just noticed 4 screws on the pic. . . maybe there is a hidden hole. . . maybe i was worry about nothing? .... in that case I'll buy it and. . . just hope it will fit perfectly and no drilling needed. . . I'll post some pics on january when i can buy it since already got my xmas present hahahaha xD
