Is it possible to light sand this, do something to bring out the grain, and then refin in a lighter color?
It's not a poly or clearcoat finish...you can still see and feel the wood, if you know what I mean.

The rear is ash, and finished more of a dark walnut that I'd like to sand, highlight the grain, and finish more of a aged/gold color.

thx for any help

I think you're going to have to completely remove it and start over, particularly since you want to go lighter and highlight the grain.
