Building Fretless.. don't know what woods

Hi I am going to build a fretless bass. In the style of a jazz bass... What woods do you guys think I should be using for the neck.. Or the body maybe? Do you know where I can find hardware to suite the style of the bass.

Plenty of options... For the body, ash or alder are pretty standard... Maple for the neck with either a rosewood or ebony fingerboard... Again, you can pretty much go with whatever your heart desires, but these are fairly standard for 'Jazz' type basses...

Stewart MacDonald , Warmoth , or AllParts should meet your hardware needs, (as well as some body/neck options if you're planning on buying parts...)
