Referring to the title above, how does one do that? It is known that you need to sand of the finish on the headstock but where do I go from there?

Some water-slide decals work well, and then get a spray can of clear laquer or something like a wipe-on poly and re-cover it.

I'm not sure Joe. But I only plan to do it for show. Not to resell it at a higher price.

simple process....sand off the finish and decal on headstock with 320 - 600 grit paper. After this is complete, finish sand to 600-800 grit. Clean with alcohol, and apply a light coat of Lacquer or poly....your choice. let stand overnight then lightly scuff this with 600, but make sure you do not sand through the finish. Apply decal and let stand for 24 hours. Apply finish coats as desired. Let stand for a couple of days, sand out to 1200, then buff with light rubbing compound, sealer and wax.

That's all there is too it. Best of luck.
