Cocobolo top poll 2.0

After some suggestion and brainstorming i am proud to invite you to "Cocobolo top poll 2.0"

-1- some sapwood will appear on the edge and between top and body

-2- the sapwood will disappear shaping the edges

-3- the "sensitive" choice

-4- the "why did not I think of that before!" way (I just switch the upper with the lower....)

The "Hopkins option" is cool, but my "client" ask me for a dark bass, maybe he don't like this light wood....

If it's for a client who doesn't want the sap wood, I would definitely go with -4-. If the client likes the sap wood, I would still go with -4-

I'd like to see the wood rotated 180 counter clockwise so the knots are up where the horns would be. I'd like to see how the grain looks in this position.

HAHA I picked the Hopkins option, just because you called it the Hopkins option

Considering what your client wants, and really now that I see it, is the best looking, I would go with option 4

I voted for the sapwood option, but obviously, I think you should just run the ideas by your client and see what they want. I just like the natural shape of the sapwood, and think if it were possible to dye the sapwood black/dark brown, maybe that would look better than having the ebony (I assume) laminate down the middle. But, I don't even know if it's possible to dye just the sapwood.

Hi my dears!
Even if the result of the poll was in favor of Option 3 I chose with my client for Option 4, darker as he pleases.
Thanks to everyone for their participation, without you I would not get to imagine option 4!
If you want you can follow the building of the bass here.

I like option 3 and not use that center peace of wood. Just use the top like it is in the picture.
