Collage process

Sign in to disble this ad
Despite being embarrassed to ask this on a Luthier's forum, I think you guys will know the best way to do this....so...

I want to do a naked lady collage bass similar to Joe Nerve's, for those who have seen his. Essentially take an SX 5er, plaster the body with magazine clippings and seal it up.

I imagine I apply a clear coat over the paper/body. Sand first? Clear coat recommendations? Other recommendations?

Thanks!

Because it's just an SX. I'm actually a very anti-sticker guy. This however would be a fun bass to whip out for a song mid set.

As long as that's all you are going to "whip out", go for it.

I'll reserve confirmation of that until after I see the finished product.

I like boobs.
Spray some archival quality 3M sticky to the bass, then to the back of the clippings, not too much, though. It'll get gooey and curl if you do. Then just spray on some clear and polish it up.

BTW, I really have no idea what I'm talking about and am not qualified to give advice of any type on this forum.

I just like boobs.

Good idea. With only two replies I'll take what I can get.

I also am a fan of boobs.

Good luck, have fun, but not too much fun.

What type of girls will you use? Pin-ups? Playboy shots? You know, some bodacious booty shots would be good and likely enhance the bottom end.

You should also use a pink "g string". Get it?

Also don't forget to modify the knobs with nips, maybe. And then the symbol for female at the 12th.

Looking forward to it...

Playboy-esque shots: boobs and butts. My goal is to amuse and interest, not offend.

I do like the idea of a strategically placed bottom being that it's a bass and all that. G-string placement also duly noted. Don't think I'm up for the 12th fret inlay, and not so sure about the knobs...

All these boob fans.....

I'm definately more of a 'bottom end' fan.
