Different color pickguard for Peavey Milestone III bass

Sign in to disble this ad
So I've been working on a Peavey Milestone 3 I got from a pawn shop as my first bass. I've sanded down the neck (which is ridiculously thin and awesome) to make it faster, I've ripped the frets out of it, and now I need to sand the holes in the nut down to get my strings closer to the fret board.

But that's not what I'm searching for...

Since this bass was a gig bass and stuck around in a pawn shop for a couple years, the white pickguard is now a fine tone of "Cigarette Smoke Yellow." Now, I'm looking to change this, but all of the Peavey Milestone series of basses have white pickguards.

I don't want white. I want tortoise shell.

Since the bass has a weird pickguard shape (J bass pup hole on a P bass style pickguard) I can't find any templates online.

So I think my only option is to make one/have one made.

Who would I get to do this? I don't know of any luthiers in my area that will do this and I think I may just have to wind up sending the pickguard off as a template.

I hate to bump a thread, but it's on page two and I'd very much like this to be seen.

Check out WD Music, and do a google search for custom pickguards.
