I will most likely end up buying one in the future but I am after a project as I have a lot of spare time and a workshop that isn't seeing a lot of action!
I'm just wandering if anyone has seen any blueprints or full scale drawings I could get a hold of online? I don't know anyone that has a Dingwall to trace around unfortunately. I am new to the fan fret designs of guitars and instruments, so I'd like to find correct detailed drawings to work from to get it right.
Thanks for your time guys! |
I think, it will be much more fun and rewarding if you actually come up with your own design rather than copying somebody else's work. Especially the ones with big name.
I don't know whether you care about this, but at the end of the project, no body is gonna say, "Nice, is that a Dingwall copy?"
If you want to do the fancy-multiscaled, fanned fret, this site (
http://www.ekips.org/tools/guitar/fretfind2d/) would probably help you with that. It is pretty good. I will give you the preview of the fretboard based on your specs.
Hope it helps. Good luck...
