im considering modifying my 70's pickup placement jazz bass 5.i would like to install side by side jazz bass pickups that in single coil mode mantains my original sound yet has the versatility to go into humbucker mode. Aero, Nordy, Fralin all make variations. has anyone had any success? KR makes a killer bass with this setup.............

If you get dual J-Style pickups that are single coil as a set and they are installed correctly they will generally be set up opposite of each other so that when they are both turned up equally they will have a humbucking effect. As far as I know that quality is pretty much universal.

If that didn't answer your question I'm not sure exactly what you were asking. Sorry.
