Ebay project body,,

I scored this body on Ebay, It's solid walnut with a strip of maple down the center. It's got a custom MM pickup and wiring and pots are decent. I was wondering If anyone here had seen this before and might know something about it and if you might have any ideas about oil or finish that might work. (Someone had together like this ).

A Nessie bass body! Cool! good luck with your build!

Google Nessie Bass.... You will find stuff. It is called a Nessie because the cavity cover and top horn look like the Lockness (sp?) Monster.

Thanks for the help! It looks like a Tom Martinson bass.

There are several Ebay stores that do MM pickups without the ears. Shouldn't be too ard to get some.

Best of luck man.

It looks like whoever built it had a really bad glue joint between the maple and walnut on the bass side of the body and filled it with some type of wood filler.

The "Nessie" is finished. I added the Hipshot transtone bridge. The neck came off a Schecter SGR. It had a black headstock I had to strip that down and refinish it with Gel Stain to match the bocy. The Tuners are Gotoh "gold" and the truss rod cover was a hand made walnut cover for a "PRS" that I cut Down to fit. The Barracuda decal I had custom made.
The bass has a unique sound and like all my bassesi it has a full tone that tends to ring out like a bell. The neck is thin and fast and the bass weighs less than my P-bass.
