eMachineShop - Anyone use them recently?

I was curious if anyone has been using them as of late? Their software has been updated and is easier to use IMO. Anyways, I'm thinking about having some parts made (tuning peg ends) and wanted to see what everyone else thought about eMachineshop currently. Thanks.

Currently? I haven't heard anything about them lately. Although some professional luthiers recommended them a few years back and I heard good things about them then. Thanks for sharing, I completely forgot about them! I may use them for bridge work.

I never used them, but I do remember getting some prices for some things and it was VERY expensive, at least for small quantities. If you have access to another CAD software package, you're likely going to be better off finding a local machine shop to build what you want.

I downloaded their software a year or so ago and found that it was very easy to work with, and would let me design things in 3D very quickly. If I could find some CAD/CAM software that was literally just *that* easy, I'd already be machining custom parts for my basses (bridges, more elaborate pickup covers, etc.).

Alternately, if I could find a hack to extrack the information from their software and port the complete 3D model to some *other* CAD/CAM software, I'd be excessively happy.

And yes, they are pretty spendy... way above *my* budget, at least.

On limited quantity they are high but so are most places local. Eh, if I can put this deal together to have a run of parts made (not bass related) I could profit just enough to cover the pieces I want for myself.
