Engagement bass build!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all. I am soon to be engaged, and the love of my life decided to make me a bass for an engagement present (she gets a shiny ring, i get a shiny bass)

(With a little help from me) She bought all of the parts from warmoth.com, and a set of big singles from nordstrand. Shes doing a custom paint job and is currently varnishing it.

Here is the body after primer and after painting. The neck is coming at some point and everything else is just waiting to be installed.

I just thought I would share with you all

Am I the only one who turned his head to read that little comic in the neck pocket?

Seriously, sweet looking bass. I think she's a keeper!

Bizarro, i believe. It's not a bad comic, but its a tad weird. Nice paint job, thought the primer was it as well, but the finished stuff looks great.

Very nice! That the G5 body shape? I just ordered one of those with a trans black dye over a quilted maple top. That design on yours is all kinds of great

finally got engaged (feb 14) and finally got my bass (back from getting a nut installed the other day) i am pissed because the guy who did the $30 setup did a crap job, i have had to readjust action and intonation, and hindsight shouldn't have gotten it (as it was a new neck and all)

anyways here is the final product.

Wow, that is awesome. When I got engaged I got a $16 ring, though my wife did get me an Epiphone Thunderbird for an early Christmas present.
That paint job gives me some cool ideas for my current frankenbass project.
