I think I can actually see the line of the scarf joint on the headstock aroudn the tuners on the nut-side.

Great idea! Actually, when re-thinking my template strategy yesterday night I thought about an angled neck and headstock template like this, to minify the number of steps and amount of work... really.. but I see I missed the genius point here: I didn't think of such a truss rod slot insert..

Thanks everyone. Been contemplating this one for a long time, glad to have extracted it from my brain. I'll be making similar templates for routing bodies.
