Fender headstocks and deadspots; Specific cause?
As many people are aware, fender headstocks/necks have an age old problem of dead spots on the G string round frets 5-8. On fretlesses it can translate to the same notes on the D string round fret positions 10-13 as well.
I know the cures, but surely the cause is better found.
Was wondering, has anyone done some serious research into the cause? Has the specific problem been found?
