Fender Jbass Pickup position

I read on a thread somewhere that the difference between the 60's and 70's Fender JBass is the pickup position changed. That is part of the reason the 70's JBasses are popular. Can someone verify that statement say which pickup moved. Also on new Fenders where are the pickup located in relatsion to the 60's and 70's models.
