Ferrules needed

Sign in to disble this ad
My cheapo eBay bass kit came with no tuning peg ferrules and I need to buy 4 of them (obviously).

This is for a standard J-Bass, with (I believe) 9/16" ID holes for the machine heads.

I am looking for the chrome version.

Or what type of screws is best for that type of machine head?

Thanks!

Try allparts, Stewmac, etc. Tuning machine ferrules may be hard to find though.

Thanks a lot!

I may have to buy a whole set if I cannot find any, use the best machines and resell the others.

Otherwise am I right that the pegs themselves have an OD of 1/2 and the hole an ID of 9/16?

That sounds off somewhat, 9/16" it a hair larger than 1/2", think of 9/18" would = 1/2", unless my brain is turned off right now, that is.

I think 9/16" OD and 1/2" ID, would be more a more accurate statement.

Uh, that means you'd be trying to insert something 9/16" in diameter into a hole that is 1/2"? I have seen miracles accomplished with a little bit of lube

Except with using the lube, it'll go well beyond 1/2", when it's done
