fiber optic markers...lame or cool

I have been contemplating fiber markers for my first build, but I'm curious if anyone has done them recently? If so was the extra work worth the look?

Totally cool, I've done 4 basses using them check out my site one of them is there in the photo gallery. Im also going to put some in the next project, I have a thread on it titled Redeemer Scroll for Uli.
