Filling in Holes

I have been inspired to turn my first bass that doesn't see much use anymore into a Bari guitar.

I've already removed all of the normal things, such as the strings and the tuning heads, however, I am now at the point where I need to fill in the holes where the tuning heads were originally, how would I go about this?

Thanks in advance
-Justin

The best way to do it would be making dowels of the same wood, with the same grain orientation. You can do it with plug cutting bits or lathe.
