I've been thinking about doing a build this summer for about 2 months. My ideas have changed quite a bit in this time. But heres what I'm at now.
I'm going for a 5 string pbass style body. Vintage.
-A maple tele bass neck.
http://www.warmoth.com:80/Bass/Necks/Deluxe5Necks.aspx
-one split Emg-P active pickup
-I'm building the body. Probably alder. I'm planning to leave it natural.. or maybe go seafoam green
-something to this effect for the bridge
http://cgi.ebay.com/Fender-American-...QQcmdZViewItem
-bridge and pickup covers

What do you think.. will this work well. its my first build so i'm trying to stay pretty basic. but at the same time i feel like a 5 vintage pbass would be unique.

How much do u think i'm lookin to spend here
Thanks

If you're looking for 'vintage P-bass' I don't think I'd necessarily put an Active EMG P pickup in it. I think I'd opt for one of the true 5-string more vintage type pickups that are out there from Nordstrand or others.

I hear ya.. but this build is on a budget...

And I'm goin for the vintage look..I just want a deep warm tone. I am having a real hard time finding Split p bass pickups for a five string.. And good recommendations(remember the budget)

:: shrug ::

Then I'd suggest pricing each of the pieces you listed, adding it up, and deciding if you can afford it or not.
