Really nice shape! Take some pictures of this bass outside once you're done, I don't think I've ever seen anything in Belgium before.

Same here. We had a weird winter, not a lot of snow this year but it got cold three months earlier than usual, and it is still cold, a month later (so far) than usual.

String Player do you have the latin name of the bulletwod you are using?

I used for my first project a local wood called here Quinilla which its "international name" bulletwood (I've seen the name peruvian cherry in some websites too). The latin is Manilkara Bidendata. I loved to use it. Its hard and pretty dense and if your wood is the same as mine Id like to know what you feel working with it.

BTW, its a really nice wood to use for FB.

I bought it as paraju but you have a lot of different names:

Acana, Aus, Ausabo, Balata, Balata franc, Balata gomme, Balata rouge, Beefwood, Bolletri, Bolletrie, Bulletwood, Chicozapota, Macaranduba, Maparajuba, Massarandu, Nispero, Pamashto, Paraju, Quinilla colorada, Red balata Acana, Aus, A

it's nice working with

very very hard
but easy to work with

Yep. We are using the same wood as fretboard and it is definitely a nice wood to work with. I haven't heard of anybody else using this wood in bass building and I wonder why. Its pretty dense, stable, looks good...

Ill keep a look in your project.

It is not but its pretty close. Ebony's janka is 3220, bulletwood's 3190. Compression numbers are that close too. I used two pieces of Bulletwood for my project cause I scrw the first one I bought and it was nicer than the second I got. Im used a zero fret and the nuts slot was too close to the zeros fret slot so it can be use for a later project.

Here are some pics of the pieces I got.

This is the first blank I got.

This is the second one. Its not a close-up but it was the only I that shows the whole fretboard.

Being a local wood they were pretty cheap and still have a piece of the second one big enough for another two fretboards.
