First build - zebrano, ash, maple and wenge...and a question

Well, I've been lurking here for a while picking up tips for my first build so I thought I'd finally register and post where I am!

The bass is meant to be my dream bass, the kind i want but can't afford to buy. The spec is:

Through neck fretless - with a maple and wenge neck, and wenge fingerboard (Love the feel of maple, and the sound of wenge on fingerboards)

The body is made of Ash, because i love the warm sound it gives my Fender - and Zebrano because it looks beautiful and will hopefully add some snappyness to the overall tone.

My Brother bought me the electronics as a gift (He is a very talented electronics teacher) which are brilliant.

The bridge is a badass, which i've always loved and fits really well with the solid feel i'm going for.

All made from scratch - and still has a lot of work to do but feeling pretty pleased so far!

Anyway onto the pics

Any particular reason for the body shape/size?
