First fret problem

Sign in to disble this ad
I took my new rickenbacker (ok, it's a tokai copy, i'm too poor to realise the dream yet) for a routine check-up when i got it, and the guy at the shop says the top fret is too high, hence making open G buzz on occasions, and he says something needs to be done about it...but i've heard of the dangers of messing with frets.

I need to do something cause i got a recording coming up, would anyone here think it'd be worth leaving it in for it to be tampered with, i mean...i guess they'd just sand it down or something....

frets are reshaped by filing all the time. as long as they know what they are doing, it should be fine to let them have at it.
