Here's the neck blank, fresh off the jointer. The Jatoba will darken a little.

I've gotten the body glued up and cut out.
Danny seemed to like the "hippy sandwich" idea so this one got the full treatment. Maple/Wenge/Ash/Wenge/Ash/Wenge/Walnut

The bottom isn't glued up in this picture because I'm still fitting the control cover.

Here's a picture of the laminates. The last wenge veneer(between the ash and walnut) is laying under the body waiting for glue up. The walnut bottom will also be planed down to the same thickness as the maple top.

Solid, the picture with the still thick walnut bottom makes it look thicker than what the final thickness will be. BUT because of the ash if Danny agrees I may chamber out a couple of spots to help with the weight.

Body edges rounded over and sanded to 80 grit so Danny can see the figure better. Should be even better when finish sanded and under poly.

I've got Dan the mans pickups wound today. I’ve had to put these on the back burner because I was and still am working on my new winder. The new one has a DC motor with a pulse modulator speed control which really helps me to control and smooth the winding process out. I bought a Veeder-Root single preset counter and hooked it up to a Honeywell bi polar hall-effect sensor. With the Honeywell I get an accurate count even with the strong neo magnet bobbins spinning not even six inches away from it. This is because its bi polar, it needs the pull of both a north and south pole in sequence before it will pulse. The pickups only have one pole facing the sensor so they don’t bother it I've got an automatic transversal that I'm working on that consists of a linear stepper motor, motor driver and an AVR micro controller. The only thing holding me up with the transversal is the programming code required for the micro controller, which I know very little about! And trying to learn it is dang near killing me

Here are the humbucker coils each wound to 7.6k they will be wired in series.
